Button finds! :)

Last Saturday, I was having a rough day. My guy and I were on our way to eat when we came across these goodies! :)

I’m obsessing about buttons for a long time now so these ended my day just great!

I have a thing for the grandma-feel. I think I am an old soul trapped in a 22-year old body.

All right, I know the button man is blurry, but I have no other photo of it and I refuse to take one again. Some other time, ok?

On a totally unrelated note, this lovely lamp is from the restaurant where the magnificent blurry photo above was shot, Laksa. They serve Tropical Asian Food. It was my first time to try and I’m coming back for sure!

Tadaaaaah!

My first ever Valentine dinner. Oh yes.

I was never a fan of Vday or any romantic gesture that entails it. I just think it’s too mainstream to join everyone flock every restaurant. Lol. Seriously though, there’s no anticipation nor excitement in me this day of the year. Even writing about it gives me creeps. I’d like it to remain as it is, just like any ordinary day.

When I had my boyfriend in college, I told him not to give me flowers nor chocolates every Vday, or if he did I wouldn’t accept it anyway. He comes up with creative gifts nonetheless but ironically, I’d accept gifts from strangers out of respect.

However, I made this year an exception. My guy’s mom gave us eat-all-you-can tix weeks before Vday and since we were apart for almost a year, I decided to give it a go. Ahhh the chills of first time!

Villa Caceres Hotel is one of the best hotels around so I knew this buffet thing would definitely be awesome.

I was expecting for a not too intimate place but quiet and private enough, a place where we could talk and enjoy the food, but I was crazy to think of that for Php 650 per head and a buffet. Silly. Food was good, not that great but not bad at all.

I liked that everything was not too formal, I need not be prim nor too mindful that after dinner, it seemed like I wouldn’t want to eat for days. Too bloated to even think and walk. The day went fun then again, a little different– but in a good way.

Hope we all had something different about this year’s Hearts’ day. Ta! xx

MOA Eye

Mall of Asia’s newest attraction, the MOA eye. It’s said to be the largest in the Philippines to date.

Well, it’s just like any other Ferris wheels, but air-conditioned. Yup, you heard me right! I still prefer the windy feel while I’m at the top and the thrill of rotating the wheel inside the compartment, hello Enchanted Kingdom but I guess it’s a bit dangerous if it’s too big. With one round for Php150 per head, it’s not that bad but it’s not that fun either. Not a good ride for adventure seekers, just saying.

Who can resist these moist, slightly gooey but still soft, sweet goodness? If you have a sweet tooth, surely you’ll get cuurraaayzeeh with one of the latest fads in town now, CUPCAKES!

Am I the only one not into business who noticed that these homemade/custom-made cups are a thing nowadays? Cupcake cafes seem to have flocked the metro recently and it’s surprising how overpriced these little sweetheavens are. I have not tried that many and I don’t know which bakery offers the best, but by far, this is the best red velvet cups I’ve tasted. Just subtle sweetness, not too gooey and the fluffiest compared to the ones I’ve tasted before. I’m not the biggest fan of sweets, but I like to try new things. Each costs Php70 for this kind and it’s worth a try and worth coming back! :)

Not sure how many branches they have but I got this from Bonifacio High Street. They have pretty cozy and cutesy interiors too and you can actually see the makers of these heavenly nibbles. Go visit and bite! xx

Katy Perry Live in Manila 2012

My college besties and I are huge fans, wait scratch that, stalkers (that’s more like it) of Katy Perry since our college years. We drooled over her the first time at her ‘I Kissed A Girl’ music video, and since then we were updated with her songs, albums, or anything whatsoever that involves her.

Although on separate places, I knew the three of us were hysterical when we got the news about Katy coming to Manila. No second thoughts or whatever, we decided we’d watch. My guy tagged along, I did not drag him I swear! And we met Camille’s friend before the show, who was also on her way to the concert grounds.

We were too giddy and we actually wanted to be on the first row of the standing zone so we queued at about 5 pm. Early birds eh? We thought so too, but not really. We waited too long at the entrance, we were second batch of whatever and the first batch were just the ones allowed at the gate. We were permitted at the gate about 7pm and the show started at exactly 8pm, with fireworks display beforehand.

The DJ from LA (sorry, no name rings a bell) played but not too long after, the people were bored. It was past 9 but there was no sign of Katy. People got bitchy and displeased until they got wild when Katy finally showed up at around 10pm. The show went splendidly, as Katy tweeted and the lengthy wait was definitely worth it.

About the pictures above, clearly our only decent photo was when we were at the queue. Just excuse our weary faces and soaking wet skin after the show. We were three happy Katycats who got sick the day after Katy’s 125th show. See you again, Katy! <3
